Konbi is a cool little spot for a very simple and light bite. Konbi is the kind of place you go to in the early hours of the day, when you feel like reading a book over a tea and finger sandwich and just breathing for a minute.
You’ll get to know your neighbors really quick at this 10 seat counter only restaurant. The hustle going on, on the other side of the counter is also slow and pleasantly refreshing, as the conversation was with the stranger you just had.
There are 4 sandwiches on the menu here at Konbi. And like I said, each one is simple. It’s seriously like eating a perfect tea sandwich. What makes tea sandwiches different from your good ol’ Italian sub? The bread! Tea sandwiches are made with the softest, melt in your mouth bread that wraps around the delicate flavors placed inside. This is exactly what you will find at Konbi.
The Japanese egg salad sandwich will be a winner with the tots. If you want to bump up the flavor palette then the pork katsu has a delicate flavor and subtle texture. Accompaniments are almost a must at Konbi. They will add the texture that the sandwiches lack. The potato salad with crunchy okra is a perfect complement to any selection and the pickles are a definite must have.
Should you be coming to Konbi with your screaming tot, did I mention the pickup window outside? Yasss….Konbi has it all thought out. And less than 5 minutes away is a park! A couple sandwiches, a side or two and a java will make a perfect picnic!

If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.
Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:
I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.

Enclosed, but space is tight:
If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
