THE GET DOWN

If you can’t find it at the Rose Bowl flea market, it can’t be found. If you can’t see it, feel it or create something from it…then it doesn’t exist.

Get lost in the nostalgia of creativity amongst the kaleidoscope of vendors. If you’re looking for furniture, or a special piece, pay the extra buck to enter. It allows you to get in early and have a look see before things are looked over by the mobs of people attending.

Put on your best baggy linen dress; the one you don’t care if it gets damaged or dirty, your biggest straw hat and the most comfortable shoes. Pack a few granola bars and sandwiches you can eat on the go, sunscreen and a gallon of water (no, seriously a gallon) because you won’t want to stop.

In fact, you need a wagon. Yes! DON’T FORGET wheels of some kind; especially if you’re toting the kids around. Hopefully you’ll make a loop around the place more than once. If you do, buy a refreshing drink from the comical vendor selling lemonade.

He always seems to show up at just the perfect time to remind you why the Rose Bowl Flea Market is such a great place to go and get lost. For real, you’ll know who I’m talking about when you get there. I’ve wondered how each and every time I’ve been to the Rose Bowl Flea Market, I bump into THAT very guy.

If the toddies start getting antsy, tag team it. There’s a park right across the street. Let the hubby go first while you shop. Whohahahaha…

Rating System:

It’s our goal to make exploring LA either with the kids or with grown ups as easy as possible. Click through the tabs above to check out our rating system.

For those with little
runners & screamers:

Easily forgiven:

Here, you can forget the fact that it’s your rambunctious child that’s screaming and STILL enjoy most of your meal.

Not promoted, but you should take the chance:

If your toddler is at the stage when an iPad or some other colorful distraction can be used for an un-interrupted 20 minutes, then go for it.

Uh-uh, NO WAY, don’t even think about it!:

I don’t care how cute your toddler is. Pop your head in… turn around… walk away. PERIOD.

No contained area:

A place you cannot leave your toddler alone, not even for a second.

Enclosed, but space is tight:

If YOU can’t fit between the tables then you know you couldn’t catch your toddler if they tried – this isn’t Norm’s.
